You will have experience of managing formal meetings in a local authority, membership body or similar. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a structured approach and attention to detail and the ability to work to demanding deadlines in a complex and high-profile political organisation. Politically aware, you must be able to manage the interface between senior officers and elected representatives with tact and diplomacy and have a firm grasp of the use of IT systems, ideally including committee management software. Experience of supporting and developing junior staff would be an advantage.
You must have the right to work in the UK, the LGA are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship visas. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.

We are in the process of transitioning our Applicant Tracking System. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with members, colleagues and others with courtesy, tact and sensitivity.
Flexible approach to work, with a keenness to adapt to meet changing work requirements
Political sensitivity, with the ability to exercise discretion, judgement and confidentiality when dealing with politicians and officers at every level, and to demonstrate political neutrality at all times.
